Very beautiful monumental cast iron fountain composed of a base decorated with shells, bouquets of shells and water lily leaves. The gadrooned basin, surrounded by water lily flowers, supports three cherubs in the Italian style of  putty  from the Renaissance, placed around a generous bouquet of reeds.

 

The  Val d'Osne art foundry, located in Val d'Osne, outside the municipality of Osne-le-Val (Haute-Marne) is a French art foundry. The workshops, created in 1836 by Jean-Pierre-Victor André  to manufacture street furniture and decorative cast iron, quickly became the most important production of art cast iron in France, until the beginning of the 20th century.  century. Their activity ceased in 1986.
