 Pretty carved gilt bronze cup depicting a fairy resting in a water lily. The stem of the water lily forms the handle of the cup.
 Maurice Bouval was born in Toulouse in 1863 and died in 1916. A pupil of Alexandre Falguière, Maurice Bouval created a large number of bronze sculptures and decorative objects between 1880 and the First World War. Member of the Society of French Artists, he will participate in the Universal Exhibition of 1900 in Paris. Two gilded bronze inkwells are on display at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
