 Affortunato Gori was born before 1895 in Florence and died in 1925 in Paris. He first studied sculpture at the Academia di Belle Arti in Florence with Augusto Rivalta. Like many Italian artists, he migrated to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century and met his second master, the French artist Victorien-Antoine Bastet.
 Affortunato Gori creates many chryselephantine statuettes of Art Nouveau spirit and during the Art Deco movement, in bronze, marble, alabaster, ivory and zinc. From 1904 to 1923, he exhibited in the salons of the Société des Artistes Français. He owes his success to the quality of execution of his sculptures and to his representations of femininity, always full of grace and sensitivity.
