Oil on panel
Nineteenth
1881

Signed lower left: CH. DONZEL. 1881

Lovely oil on panel representing a group of elegant and elegant on a bank while waiting to board the boats.

Charles Donzel was born February 6, 1824 in Besançon and died March 20, 1889 in Paris.
After having hesitated between music, sculpture and drawing, he devoted himself to Painting. Landscape painter and watercolorist, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1859.
His friends Corot, Troyon and Daubigny nicknamed him the "painter of water" because the presence of water is almost omnipresent in his work: in his landscapes of Limousin, Franche-Comté, Maine and Normandy.

The canvas is in good condition, some chips of gilding on the frame: restoration estimate on request.
